What do people think about Burnley?

I want to know what people think about Burnley. I also what to know what they like about the place and what they do not like about it.

I've not lived in Burnley for 11yrs Jayjaya! I've still got family over there and when I get the chance I bob back over to visit! I still follow the Clarets but only go as and when these days! The rain always got me down when I lived there!!! plus the blubby steep hills!!! There seems to be more Nightlife now than there was when I lived there!! and it always makes me smile when people that have never been to the place think it's all dark satanic mills smog and grime!! Towneley hall is a beautifull place to visit there are some wonderfull art works there!And the country side is nice there too!

the pubs and clubs seem better and more abundent then they ever were when i lived there hun. Problem is, it is a dying town cos there is absolutely NO industry left there any more (that I'm aware of). true there are still a few small companies, but the rise of BNP - even as a protest vote to the muppet labour council - has seen off any real future developement of the place - in my opinion
It's a shame because the area and people (mostly_ are absolutely lovely

I don't know, there's been a lot of private investment in the town.

House prices are rising faster than anywhere else as well.

allow me to get to the point... it sucks. if your my age, theres bugger all to do. im not the townie/ chav sort that goes to all these fluidz n surfers places, so that limits what i can do at night. there are certain parts of buirnley that i wouldnt advise going near with out a shotgun, believe me iv been chased and heckled manya time in many a place.the bus services are a joke, the shops in the town are rubbish, the transport links to anywhere suck, there is bugger all to do, and if your a kid round here, yoyu so much as look like your doing wrong, you get the cops on you. utter crap this town, n i cant wait till i can leave!!!!!
and im only following the claretss results this season, as the club is soo messed up, im not bailing them out anymore, if kilby wants to screw the town even more then thats up to him.
to conclude.....IT SUCKS!!!!!!

a lot of people think its ok, but its rubbish.its all really gone down hill. but if your down nr stoneyholme at night , theres gangs roaming the streets, as there is down bwood, n syke. the ither night i was playin cicket nt the oaks, n a large gang of asian youths started shoting things at me. i thing that the fact that im 6'3 and had menacingly gripped my cricket bat stopped then from doing anything.

I used to live up Duke Bar and it used to be alright, glad I moved when I did - it's a hole.
The stretch of road from the canal bridge to the duke of york is a right mess, it's nearly enough to make you want to buy a 4x4.
