Default Fireworks

So the new laws are in force regarding who can buy fireworks and the times they may be set off. How on earth are these laws going to be enforced and by whom? If you see a youngster setting them off, they would be miles away before anything was done by the authorities. Is it just another law like selling drink to underage youngsters that is impossible to enforce?

No doubt the government must make money on the sale of fireworks so we will never, never see a ban on them. Much to my disgust.

As with most, nost will happen about it.

The local shops are still selling them to the kids, if the goverment was to do something about the shops then we might have less of a problem.

People round here seem to set fireworks off very late at night as well(can't be kids at 12.30 am) Pets do'nt like them and people like my Dad who get a bad shock when they go off when not expected. I am not a killjoy and enjoy them but only when used properly.

Ban em, send the kids to bed or send the parents to jail, just stop the flaming nuisance, the kids are absolutely clueless, setting them off wherever they can.

If the kids like the danger then go to the Malt Shovels annual bonfire, you'll see what I mean when it occurs this year.

I think that all firework sales should be banned and made only available to organisations that have a licence, etc. It's getting bad around my area too, fireworks around 10 - 12 at night.

In some retailers you have to have proof of ID with you.
This way it would ensure that those who are under 18 would not get served.
But this can seriously affect the sales of those retailers who follow this, but if all retailers did this, it would greatly help the problem. But how many people have been asked by under age kids to go into a shop and buy cigarettes, beer etc. And do they know how much that adult can be fined for serving alcohol for under 18`s ?

I hate em and will always hate em. My mum had one put down her top as a child, exploded on her tummy...nice!!!
My toddler is terrified for months as they last from now til the end of january...people let them off to celebrate the opening of a door these days!!!
When my dog was alive he used to hide in the shower cubicle trying to dig his way down in terror!!
They should be banned to the public across the board, no exceptions.
The government talk saving the nhs money etc, how much of a drain are firework related injuries?
Maybe someone should throw a few in the houses of parliament? Do what Guy Fawkes failed to do!! I bet they'd ban em then eh!!!

mosdt of my mates mess about with fireworks. i cant see the point, yeah they look good for all of 10 secs, but when you actually thik about the end product and the cost, it does seem just a little stupid. now i dont want an outright ban, as i enjoy fireworks, but i am glad that something is being dun.

fireworks go bang..... and .....flash....... and, errr hang, no they don't. They either bang or flash now a days. And they cost a bleedin fortune.
Scares me as to what kind o person can afford to buy em now.
I used to love fireworks as a kid, now they just disappoint and they should be banned for boredome sake
That said, they should also be banned cos Muppets love to set them off for any reason and at any time of night - no consideration
"oh good, today's a day with a "Y" in it, lets light ome fireworks".....!
Phhhhh

This year we have had hardly a firework go off. Last year it was like the Somme round here. Lets hope it lasts.

It is pouring down, blowing a gale and cold and guess what there have been fireworks going off for the last hour. They must be bonkers out in this weather I don't know how they are managing to light the darned things.
