So the borough council are proposing to only empty the dustbins once a fortnight are they? Does this mean we will all need an extra bin and where on earth are most people to keep them, especially those who live in terraced houses and have no back yards? What about the extra blocking up of pavements on dustbin day are we all to walk in the roads? To say nothing of the health hazards in hot weather from flys and rats. Then we are told the recycling will be back, not because it is good for the environment, but because the council have to meet government targets or they will be punished. The chairman of the relevant committee passes this punishment on to the residents if they don't co-operate according to him they are going to get 'tough' whatever he means by that. All this despite the failure of a similar scheme in Southampton, when will they ever learn!

i dont look down on them..in fact im quite friendly with my local bin men as they're always really helpful. Anyway, this is'nt a slight on binmen..its about our useless selfish council who make us pay astronomical council taxes for services we dont get!

Where have they announced this? It will only make fly tipping more prevalent. As it is, the service is poor, why are they now wanting this? Cost cuts I bet, where is all the money that I pay going to then? Do we get a rebate on our coincil charges for it?
