Muslim parents reject my daughter
A good friend of mine from the North of England sent this to me recently. This is obviously where sometimes the problems start from and it's hard to combat this sort of teaching
"
Muslim parents reject my daughter
Everyone knows of the innocence and simplicity of a 12 year – old’s birthday – fun, sweets, games, drinks and plenty of tomato sauce. Friends are invited (mostly school friends) and they can come from all backgrounds, ethnic origins and religions. Being a church-going Christian family we are happy to invite all – Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian and atheist alike. So how does it feel when we hear of my daughter’s Muslim friend having a birthday party with specific instructions from her parents that there be no Christian children invited? What message is sent to their children? This distrustful behaviour and possible underlying dislike, starting at such a young age, does not bode well for future relationships between Muslims and others in this country"
