| Hi I live in Colne and just like Burnley we now have in place the new recycling program. Before this new program came into being, my family and I did recycle, tins, bottles, garden waste etc. Since going onto fortnightly collections, the council has not managed once to get it right, every Thursday I have to phone the cleansing department, to get them to recollect what they have missed. I have explained that I don’t have enough green boxes as I have now to separate paper and card also glass and tins, so nearly three months ago I was told I would get another 2 boxes within a week, I have phoned several times, even managed to speak to a manager on one occasion who promised yes I would get them within a week I am still waiting. As regards to people being fined for their bin bags being put on the floor by bin men because the lid won’t shut on the bin, it’s the bin men who are fly tipping not the householder so it’s them who should be fined, not the householder. If any councilor from either Burnley or Pendle reads this please listen to the public and realize it’s not working and go back to weekly collections, thus stopping unsightly bin bags all over our streets, plus less chance of dieses from rats and other vermin that feast on the left bags. |

| Get used to it in Colne, we have had that fun (not) in Burnley for a while now. They are now offering larger bins to families of 5 (was 6) yet you have to fill in an application form, explaining exactly what & how you do recycle & are then also told you will have to have a further survey if you do get a bin. Rumour has it that you can pick up blue recycling bins at varying places I.E. Thomson Centre etc. I would need 2 more to make 3 boxes tio fill with all my recyclables, so why on earth do they not just issue a big blue/green wheelie bin for recyclables only. This would save an awful lot of carrying around etc. I'm sure that many older folks cannot pick up & carry these blue boxes when they get full. |

| what annoyed me most was that i had to ring the head office from the free phone in poll tax office (good job i wasent paying ,it took ages and crap music) i was talked down to by some toffee nosed stuck up twerp.who had the cheek to tell me that i had to take any excess bags to the tip miles away.and he wanted to know why i couldent get all my rubbish in my bin ,when there was 4 of them in their family and they only used 1 bag a week .well good on him i say..I CANT... then he asked me how much shopping i got a week ,so i told him it was nothing to do with him ....any way lets see how long it will take them to bring a green bin.... and silverscrim....thats a good idea,,i think we will have to do a lot of jumping,,,,lol
