Why dont you have a go GrannyC ,most local community centre,s have groups now and its a good way of meeting people. Dont say you can,t do it :yelrotflm you can and most people are suprised and delighted with what they do .

Hi Kikki i tried to have a go once, my daughter in law bought me a lovely set of water colours ,i may just dig them out again ,(thanks G.C.)

my brother who was never artistic as a youngster took up oil painting and watercolours whilst living in Lisbon...his stuff is amazing!! Wish i could be as artistic as that..the only artistic thing i can do is tapestry needlework and i also make my own greeting cards.

I think its nice to be able to give someone something that you have made and to have put a bit of yourself into it, that in itself is really something no matter what it is! :)

Off to Spain in a couple of weeks !so plan to do some sketching there, havent done any painting for ages. I need to improve ondrawing skills, quite testing trying to draw live animals and people!

Sable is the best, so why not. Keep it in shape with soap. Put it on fairly dry, let it 'set', in a couple of days it will be straight.

Thanks Sweatpea, got some hog brushes too and looking to paint with some new chinese brushes and an airbrush i have just purchased but busy doing a small mosaic!

Thankyou i always have loads of ideas but never get around to them all, Im quite pleased with the mosaic ive been doing from broken china will take aphoto of it when finished and put it on here! :closed_2:

You should give it another go! its nice when you create something yourself and there are many good video,s to encourage you or local art courses you could go to!
