I thought I had registered before, however in the past few months we have been getting spam calls almost every night.
I have got to the abusive p-off stage because I'm so annoyed that they always ring at tea time, just after I have sat down to eat.

Rang the number as we get em over here as well. Last year a gym was cold calling and a 98 year old lady was offerd a free three months trial, she told them she did'nt have a costume!(You could'nt make this up.).

Although I doubt this.

I'll start asking for thier company name & details etc so I can pass them onto the TPS, that should annoy them.

i havent had a single call in two weeks now....i registered with both services about 5 weeks ago so they do work i promise.

Me too I have registerd with the Numbers and touch wood havn,t had any calls where you pick it up they dont say anything and it goes dead.

you can stop all calls that withhold the number via call barring from your service provider

yes you can but that also stops valid calls .

i dont consider any calls valid where the number is withheld. if a person is telephoning you, they have your number, whats the problem with you having theirs? i dont accept ANY calls where a number is withheld. :lol:

I agree to this point. IF someone rings my mobile on a withheld number, they can leave a message. I turn on call barring on the land line when I don't think it will effect the business.

my mum lives in spain..her number isnt given and wouldnt be accepted under a call barring system.

But doesn't call barring etc cost you?
Why should I pay to stop people calling me that I do not want to?
They should just not call me in the first place.

i agree..when initially i was getting problem phone calls i spoke to bt and there is a charge of roughly £5 a quarter for this which is unreasonable when the silent phone guard service that i use is so good...its free and works!!!
