Default Public Transport Safety

SHOULD ALL PUBLIC TRANSPORT BE CHECKED MORE OFTEN--if so how long??......MOST OF OUR BLACK CABS IN TOWN ARE CONSIDERED UNFIT TO BE ON THE ROAD, AND ARE GOING TO BE RE-TESTED ON THE MOT TESTS, SHOULD ALL LAWS BE CHANGED REGARDING PUBLIC SAFETY VEHICLES, TRAINS ALSO..........BROKEN SEAT BELTS ETC....
WHAT WAYS SHOULD DRIVERS BE RE-TESTED TO KEEP THEIR LICENCE'S........CRIMES....AGES........ACCIDENTS ETC..........ALCOHOL.........:stop:

Yes all vehicles should be rigorously tested & more than once per year, perhaps twice given the use they get.

As for the drivers, previous convictions? depending upon what they were for.
But they sshould have regular retests for thier abilities & esp eyesight & coordination etc.

Public Transport?..............Hate it.
I wouldn't trust it full stop,Bus drivers are getting more dangerous everytime i see one, they think they own the road sometimes (as do car drivers albeit)......stringent tests should be done on all public transport including Trains,do Trains have seatbelts?.......if they dont, they should with the amount of rail crashes over the past 10-15 years.
Isn't there a law now where a taxi cannot be so many years old?.........A taxi should be NO OLDER than 5 years old.

Because of the speeds involved, if a train was to crash I doubt a seatbelt would do much good, perhaps ore harmful. good idea though.

What annoys me lots about busses is the "Northern Blue" company.
They buy up old knackered busses & get away with using them to transport us around in.

They are often in a disgusting state with so many rattled & bangs that you might think that the wheels are going to fall off and I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

B&P may well be extortionate but I'd travel in them before I had to take a NB bus.

Most of the buses round here are new and I've no fears about there safety,as for drivers etc yes they should be tested for drink and drugs. The trams are another matter some are donkeys years old!!!!!!

id rather get a northern blue, because at least they turn up. not like the "service" on "modern" busses that b&p try to say that they give. and its a hell of a lot cheaper.

NB are just as bad for not turning up, I caught the NB Lomeshaye service for many years & there were often days when the driver did not bother coming into work or would miss the bus station out all together.

The drivers for both companies are as bad for not turning up or missing stops etc.

The difference being that with B&P they have a proper procedure for these things & the drivers get a rollocking, with NB the depot just don't give a t0$$.
