Also, I have rhubarb with blackfly on the new leaves. Any clue as to how to get rid without using bug spray?
Just the dead flower head!
try a mild washing up liquid, in a fine spray close as you can!dont spray it in sunshine

Thanks, will give it a go. As for sunshine, don't think that will be a problem in the next few days:)

washing up liquid (diluted of course) is what i use for practically all garden baddies lol!!
Dead heading i do every day due to having lots of petunias, marigolds, verbena, ganzania, dahlias and some lilies just going off.
Has anyone else had plagues of snails this year? They seem never ending around where i live and they've never been a problem before...weird!

Ive been using banana skins around the base of woody fuschia bushes..they really work!

Well, the dilute washing up liqiud does not seem to work. They like it, they are breeding! Should I make it stronger?

Watched a repeat programme yesterday, was on Birmingham allotments with Monty Don and want to do some gardening now. Im going to make some containers using tiles and wood ,probably in reclaimed slate! I only have a small backyard so will keep to seeds mainly herbs. Any one else planning anything yet?
