Re: New Comedy" Extras"! The second episode of Ricky Gervais' new comedy Extras lost more than a million viewers on Thursday night.
The BBC2 sitcom kicked off with 4.6 million viewers last week with guest-star Ben Stiller.
Thursday night's show, which starred Vinnie Jones and ex-EastEnders hardman Ross Kemp, drew 3.4 million and a 16.1% share at 9pm, down from 24% last week.
A BBC spokeswoman said the result was still excellent for BBC2.
She said: "We have four episodes to go with really strong cameo roles.
"3.4 million is still an amazing figure for BBC2."
The Office star Gervais plays film extra Andy Millman in the BBC2 comedy, which has received glowing reviews.
Future episodes of Extras are set to feature appearances by Kate Winslet and Samuel L Jackson, all playing versions of themselves.
A second series is being planned and Gervais hopes the likes of Jude Law, Steven Spielberg and Bruce Springsteen will agree to appear.
The first series of The Office began with an audience of just 1.8 million, when Gervais was a little-known comic, while the launch of series two attracted 4.2 million.
Thursday night's Bad Lads' Army on ITV1 got 5 million at 9pm and a 23% share, and BBC1's Traffic Cops was watched by 4 million viewers, an 18% share. Others dont share your view Kiki.......lol |
