Harry Potter/Trick or treat.Is it harmless fun?

I was wondering what you think of kids being into Harry Potter and going trick-or treating at Halloween etc.
Is it harmless fun? or is this making them turn to the occult?
I've worked with someone who used to hate parties at Halloween saying it was promoting the occult to kids!
As for me I think Harry Potter is a good read for kids, that gets them reading and that can't be a bad thing!, plus it's all harmless fun but what do you think?

I must admit i dont like my kids being out on Halloween night,you dont know who is about!!!

Harry Potter has got a lot of kids reading again,but it's not my cup of tea!

harmless fun i take mine round and to parties wouldnt let them go alone but mine are only small

when i was a kid i read every enid blyton book in the library .. now its harry potter '
for all her money ms tolken dosent seem a very happy lady

eee, dinna worry aboot it lass, it's her age, she is getting fuddled... lol

JK Tilkien wrote the Lord of the Rings books.
JR Rowling wrote the harry potter series.
JR Hartley wrote a fishing book :D

Dressing up & havin fun on halloween is just that these days.
A bit of fun for the kids, heaven knows there are so few reasons for them to have fun these days.

Although we do prefer to keep guard of them to keep them safe if they go out trick or treating. I wouldn't let mine do it unless I went with them in case of any plonkers.

used to be harmless fun, now you cant let kids go anywhere, carol singing, bonfire night, paper round or anything. I used to go carole singing with a mate who had a beautiful voice and we would be invited into complete strangers home and didnt think anything of it (apart from we would make an extra 5 bob as long as i kept my mouth shut!)
