A VANDAL with a grudge against speed cameras has struck again in their costly one-man war.

Officers are determined to catch what is believed to be a single motorist seeking revenge after being convicted by evidence from the speed traps.

i can see the government pretending in the not too distant future that the cameras will be moved for safety reason or some other bull...(only when the black box is due on the market) i mean why need the cameras when the box registers all the movements/destinations/miles per hour ect ect..they will know if you have been speeding and it will be on their main database (recorded)so you dont need the cameras DO YOU?????????????

Absolutely right. The road charging black box is the proverbial thin end of the wedge. Once in place the government will find an excuse to log speed as an alternative to cameras.. a lot cheaper to administer and therefore worth more to local authorities / government.

It's a pretty worrying picture, ID cards with biometric information and black boxes to track movements. God help us if anyone came to power who wanted to use the technolgy for truly repressive purposes. :(

(I reserve judgement on this point with the present lot)
