Is it me or is this a clear cut issue? I keep hearing on the news etc. that the country is divided on the issue blah blah blah, and that too much parliamentary time is taken up with it blah blah blah, and that people aren't interested? Surely the chasing and visciously tearing up of small animals is cruel cruel cruel. Espescially when it is done simply for fun and jollies (even though huntsman say it is a service) And yes it is taking up too much parliamentary time but that doesn't mean i ain't intersted. It should have been the first thing Labour did, together with the minimum wage, when they were elected I simply can't believe that many people are for it? Where do you guys stand?????

The debate is over as it has already been passed in the Commons and it is being discussed in the Lords who are making a last ditch attempt to modify some of the clauses to allow registered hunts the right to continue. They know it is only a delaying tactic as the Government will over rule them and quite rightly so on this occasion. It is a barbaric sport and there are other more humane ways to practice pest control if it is needed.

the foxes do need to be culled in some way - the fox hunting industry does provide a lot of jobs for people, and think what would happen to all the hounds if they weren't required for hunting anymore. also, if any of you have ever seen a pheasant pen or a chicken coop after a fox has been in there then your opinions might change. the fox will kill ALL the birds and yet only take one to feed itself

Foxes are viscious little gits and do need culling - no argument there. Why not go out and shoot them then - answer - because foxhunters ENJOY it. To them it is fun, they blood little kids like a rite of passage - does that sound like they are doing it to cull the foxes - I don't think so. As for the poor little doggies, are these the same ones that killed off anyway once they reach a certain age because they are no longer any good for hunting.

exactly. i admit that foxes do need keeping under control, but there is a more humane way imsure. i was watching a programme the other day, and it had a 14yr old girl on it. she was saying, whilst in tears, i ont know what im going to do, foxhuntin is my life. and then her moither came on and sed that she cried her self to sleep somenites. why? its so***ng barbaric. its a sport for middle-upper class toffs who care nothing for anyone ele. its about time they were brought back to the real world, not a world where "daddy" does everything for them

So the pheasants in the pen would be far happier to be shot and killed in the name of sport when they are released would they? If the sporting set are so worried about the hounds they could each take a couple and give them a good home. As for foxes being vicious, so would any animal be when it is cornered, it's called self preservation. I would have more respect for the hunting brigade if they were honest and admitted it was a sport and not pretend it was for the good of the countryside.
