Default Some wallpapering tips.

After having just done the bedroom here is the benifit of some of my experiences.

1) Get someone else to do it.

Failing that.

Always have a wet sponge handy so that once you have spread your paste & the paper is waiting the 5 mins or so needed, you can wipe down your wallpaper table.
This stops it getting all sticky & yeukky.

Draw a line accross the table about 10" in & continue it down the edges.
then you can lay your paper along the board, in line with the edges & you have a line that will alow you to cut/score it at the correct angle instead of being wonky.

Always use a sharp knife & change the blade often.

Wash your sponge, paste brush & papering brush afterwards, it stops them being like a pasting table that has not been wiped clean :D

When the instructions (yes instructions) that come with the paper say wait 8-10 minutes, then it's best to wait exactly that time with all pieces.
It allows for the paper to absorb the glue at the same rate & keeps the stretching even.

Has anyone noticed the width of wallpaper tables & lining paper?
It's like the makers of lining paper also make th tables & they sat around in a meeting & said, I know what, let's make lining paper 10mm wider than a std table so that people have to buy our deluxe wider table that costs more ! :yelrotflm

Please feel free to add yout papering tips

To avoid bubbles, brush the back (lining) of the paper with warm water then paste as normal but give half the time manufacturers reccomend. A quick fix if you want nice results :)

Just the main bedroom.
Normally it takes me 3-6 months to decorate a room.
But in my new house I did in in 1/2 the time :D
