British TV '10 years behind States'

TV host Jerry Springer thinks British television has some growing up to do.



The star, famous for his chair-throwing and swear-filled confessional chatshows, believes British TV is 10 years behind its American counterpart.

Springer told the Radio Times:

"What you do great are your documentaries. "You still do TV with a stiff upper lip and when you do that it's excellent, the best there is."
"The rest of your stuff is 10 years behind American television. "That's not a criticism - it's just newer to you here. Your talk shows are like ours were ten years ago; they plod along - it could be radio. "Virtually all your live programmes could be on radio."

Do you agree with Mr.Springer?...........I think some of our comedies are better than the yankee ones!!........but i dont believe us to be 10 years behind.
There are bad tv shows all over the world!!

everyone moans if something is shown and it has swearing in or nudiy which is daft really as its all part of life.

One thing about America i can't stand is there sense of humour, they tend to think everything is hillarious. The canned laughter is terrible, if a programm can not make you laugh on it's own merit, then what does that say about it. The word crap springs to my mind.

I hate the canned laughter and clapping,it also does my head in on countdown when it is finishing and you can hear cheering............how can an audience with an average age of 96 cheer like that?

OMG! you mean in 10 years time our TV shows are going to be absolute crappy drivel with no sense & direction.

Well, better start copying them them for 9 years & a few months just to ensure we get to keep our decent tv shows :D

So, our t.v. is 10 yrs behind America's, then all i can say is thank god for that!. I love Brit t.v., all the yankie sitcoms involve gays or people with serious personality problems. As for Jerry Springer, his 'followers' have the collective I.Q. of a peanut(and that's being generous). Over there they have 100's of channels of pure s**t.
