| Forget extra cover. Forget dixons, toys r us, pc world, time, tiny etc. they sell crap & have crap support. The DELL PC's are often good but recently they too have been making them out of naff stuff & the graphics are always onboard. I got mine from 3b computers in Nelson, a superb PC at little more than would have cost me from Dell & much less than from PC world for a higher spec. Having your PC built up to specification at your local PC supplier could reward you with a better spec computer at a lower price with better quality of service. All of them will hold you to the basic 12 months warranty (your legal right) unless you pay more for an extended worthless piece of paper. However, local suppliers do not have the bullplop of head office etc to deal with & resolve issues much quicker & more to your satisfaction as they have a smaller reputation to lose etc. Unfortunately I do not know of one in Cleveleys. |

| Matty has a good idea there by getting one built to your specifications,if you dont play games or anything like that on it then you can save on graphics etc etc. Have a look through your yellow pages and pay a visit to your local (not national company)computer shop to check prices and specifications, get it down on paper and then come back here and we'll give you advice to see if it is ok and if the price is worth it. YOU WILL NEED TO FIND OUT.... MB of Memory Hard Drive Space Processor Monitor size PRICES ?? |

| id never go anywhere like pc world or dixons a complete rip off mine cost me just under £300 with everything included in that monitor the lot my bf built it for me :)

| You could do one of those nightclasses that teach you how to build your own, then buy the bits online (with old computer lol). I got a mate to build mine, but wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about setting them up.

| Lest star with "what do you want to do on it" ?? Also, how much are you prepared to spend? I paid £500 & some change for my AMD64 3000 with lots of everything that runs like a dream so that I can play games etc & it does. If you don't want to play high end graphiocs games & never will then you do not need such high spec. If you only want to browse the web, play online games, use SOHO stuff etc then a basic 1000+ speed PC should be adequate & cheap enough. I have seen them for sale for less than £200 to cope with that. Let me know what you want to do & spend (by PM if neede) and I'll put a list of bits together from my local supplier for an idea for you. |
