virus scanners

having shed load of probs with p.c got a virus scanner on it some how and cant get rid of it its taken over my home page and wont let me system restore to get rid of it done all sorts of scans but no luck any one any ideas

If you tell me what theirs is I might be able to find a solution. Without knowing what it is I'm a bit in the dark.

Darren it sounds like spyware to me.

Have you got adaware on? If so run that and it should get rid of it for you. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

I had a similar thing a while ago...I was advised to download a program called "Superantispyware" - do a google for it. I know it might look a bit dodgy from the tacky web site, but it's very good - still running it and it finds things that other more well-known programs fail to pick up.

sorry people been of for a day or two RIPPING MY ?$!@ HAIR OUT but thanks to all your help back up and running again. downloaded the super anti spyware thing took an hour and a half to scan but it got rid of it already got adaware pro had it ages updated regular but that would'nt even touch it once again thank you all for your help :hug:
