the first time being thick may have been good for me, wanted to go wireless but couldn't figure it out, so stuck with the phone line and modem.
probably turn out to be nothing, like the mobile phone thing.

Apparently it goes through floors and ceilings better than it does through walls. Our router is on the ground floor and one PC is two floors up but the connection is great.

I use a Linksys router, which aren't that good to be honest. It's one floor up and if I don't get a Very Good connection, it's either Good or Low.

You get what you pay for I suppose and they are cheap. Just make sure you don't have many walls in between. My father-in-law next door but one can connect to it so it does do the job.

Just make sure you enable the security settings, to stop people doing things with your internet connection!

We are right out in the sticks, and I don't really trust it yet. My daughter lives in London and hers is very hit and miss. If it's raining, she gets no connection at all. So, until it's improved, we are wired.

Wired is the best way to go, no signal drops and no connection speed loss, well not as much as wireless.

That's not the case in London. Sometimes my daughter goes without internet connection for days.

We are out in the sticks also... Don't trust it, prefer wired, took us all our time to find a cell phone carrier that works. And you get that many storms it would probably be more off than on.

I'm 'wired' too.... mainly because I couldn't fathom the the wireless thing........but I could have wireless if I worked it out........does this mean I'm at risk too? I tell you if brains were a disease - I'd be in robust health!

And what about wireless keyboards and such...are they a risk?
Sorry to be so thick.
I'm sure scientists just come up with this stuff to frighten the pips out of us all - next week they'll be telling us they got it wrong and we are safe.
