| Driving up Centenary Way today towards Manchester Road I noticed that there are now large 30mph signs when it used to have small 40mph ones. Only as I was nearing the roundabout passing the turnoff for Finsley Gate I saw one small 40mph one. Is this a temp measure does anyone know or is it all to be 30mph? I really think it should be due to it being a busy pedestrian area.

| I noticed when I was in tesco yesterday there are some new enrty and exits out on to Centenary Way, nearer to the bowling alley than the current traffic light entrance. Maybe it's all part of the master plan ? |

| And the correct answer is ; THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A671 CENTENARY WAY, BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2007 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any person to cause or permit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 30 mph over the entire length of A671 Centenary Way, Burnley, a distance of approximately 710 metres, in the Borough of Burnley. The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the safe formation, maintenance and removal of a temporary lorry pull in the area. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Sunday 6th May 2007 until 1700 hours on Saturday 26th January 2008, or on completion of the works within this period. Cliff Matthias |

| Thanks for that Neal, I use Centenary Way everyday and had not noticed that, enough problems watching other road users, on Friday last week I was undertaken by a scooter rider with "L" plates on passing myself in the outside lane and another car in the nearside lane, he then did it against other vehicles approaching the Kierby roundabout before going up Yorkshire street, he will not live long if he continues that habit. |
