Accrington Road: Cyclist Hurt

OFFICERS from Pennine Division's Road Policing Unit are appealing for information after a young cyclist was hurt in an accident around 8 p.m. on Wednesday in Accrington Road, Burnley.

The eight-year-old boy was riding his green pedal cycle along the pavement when he appears to have been clipped by a dark coloured vehicle, possibly either a mini-bus or taxi. He sustained grazed knees but did not need to go to hospital.

PC Chris Edwards from Pennine's Road Policing Unit said: "The youngster was not badly hurt nevertheless we do need to find out exactly what happened. It may be that the driver didn't even realise they had clipped the bike."
