Crown Point

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for my question but can anybody please tell me where Crown Point is?

Go up Rossendale Road from the direction of Accrington Road to the traffic lights, then turn right onto Manchester Road. Then, turn left onto Crown Point Road which takes you to the top of the hill, Crown Point.

It's the top road from Burnley to Bacup

If you look on the Map on Burnley Web (See navbar) you can find it and see a real picture of it. Just look my red icon / location and go south slowly until you see Manchester Road / Rossendale Road and go from there.

We used to live on Glenview rd ,just at the bottom of Crown point rd

Re Crown Point, it used to be in the 1930s an open air hospital and school, I was there for 18 months 1935 onwards to cure my bronchial problems, must have worked still OK!!

What number and when, grannyclaret? My auntie Clara Howarth lived at 59 Glenview Road -- I spent a lot of my younger days there.

I see it is being turned into a house i think? iIn the sixties my sister stayed there, as two of my neibours got polio, and she had been visiting one of them. Thankfully she didnt catch it but was quite young to be isolated!
