Does anyone know how to go about finding people ...

I was brought up in care and ive got a brother id really love to find but he was adopted and i wasnt ive been in touch with social workers and i get nothing back from them ive called every number in the phone but again nothing ... all i no about him is that he lives in nottingham well he did at the moment i have no idea where he is

have you tried places like library for records and electoral register and stuff

yeah i tried all of them but no match for his name ... and the social workers cant help me has he was adopted but im trying to keep my hopes up that hes looking for me too .. its hard but i keep in there and looking every where i thought i found him once but it wasnt i called some phone number and i said hi is that nick hes like yes i was in tears on the phone thinking omg i found you but it turned out it wasnt him i felt so stupid

my friend found her mum a long while ago as she was also adopted things didnt work out too well really either.

there must be something else that can be tried

i did get so close one time i found out the number of a place he worked in notts but when i called the number the office had moved so it was a dead lead and no one could help me in giving out hes info has no one new im not giving in tho i never will even if it takes years ill find him the next step i might take is righting to the notts paper see if they will post somthing in the miss people part

The Salvation Army specialise finding in lost relatives. Not many people know this. Give them a go, they are supposed to be quite good. Google them.

i have been to these but cus he was adopted they said they might not beable to help has he has a new life ... if he was only fostered and not adopted it would be alot easyer to find him but cus he has a new family and stuff its harder ... i could try again .
