I was born in Burnley so that makes me one , but only ever been to one football match so that could go against me!

Well I was born (accidentally) in Blackburn but spent my early years in Hapton and now live in Accrington so I don't think I have any claim to being a Burnleyite.

sorry I'm a Nomad lived all over and travelled a lot. Live a few miles from Burnley and it is my nearest shopping centre, and I love it.
I don't know any true Burnleyites other than through the forum. But from what I have seen and the way i have been treated in shops etc.
I would say.
Warm friendly, even to outsiders. honest, straight talking. Inquisitive and open to knew ideas. Tend to say "Go for it" when asked opinions on projects rather than " is that really a good idea" which is the usual response darn sarf.

I'm a true Burnleyite. Born in Bank Hall maternity hospital and lived most of my life in the area, not to mention a season ticket holder at the Turf. Now in Accrington defending my hometown's honour against keyboard morons

Both my son and daughter are, they dont live here now but always say that people from Burnley are very straight and warm.

Maybe there are some that live there in Burnley that arent born there, that feel they are Burnleyites?

When we are up North next, I am going to try to get over to see it at least. Husband comes from Macc and his family are still there, but we are sometimes in Preston and Blackpool.

Tho Burnley are very good neighbours so no need to argue too much with them unless they take the pee outta my footy teamlol.

I spent more time living in Brierfield and Nelson than Burnley but to me it's all the same area

I'm not a native of Nelson or Burnley, however me mum her sisters and mother are Brierfielders me cousins are obviously Burnley born but Nelson raised they're in there late 20s and 30s.

I did grow up in Nelson, living just of Barkerhouse Rd, could over look cats park for those who know where I mean from age 10 years old for 9 years before returning to Oldham my birthplace.

I did say earlier I had only moved out of the area once earlier but you just reminded me I had 18 months away when I was young in Chadderton and Werneth

Well you're not missing much there , I can tell ya not now anyway.

I had good memory's overall and made many good friends who I still keep in touch with and come over to see today.

I know I'd like to return at some point, just getting the dosh together and I'll be returning.
