Hello,

There are some blood donation sessions taking place in Burnley soon. Whether you're a regular donor or a first timer we'd love to see you there. Details are as follows:

Thursday January 3 & Thursday January 24 @ Burnley FC in the 1882 Lounge. The sessions run between 1.30 & 3.30pm and 5.30 - 7.30pm.

To make an appointment to donate please call 0845 7711 711 or visit The National Blood Service - do something amazing give Blood for more information on being a blood donor, including details of the donation process, how blood is used and whether you'll be eligible to donate.

Each donation can go towards saving or improving up to three lives and what better way to start the New Year than being a lifesaver?

Blimey must count me out too then as i was told i had that as a child too, didnt know it effected giving blood tho.

Have not checked back for some years, but apparently antibodies from it remain in the blood, so they could not use it. Maybe, they might have ways of filtering or something that they did not have then. I also have to take anti-histamines 24/7, so that also excludes me.

As long as you've made a full recovery from scarlet fever and are in general good health nowadays it won't prevent you from giving blood.

That is not what happened in my case. I had SF as a very young child, maybe 6 or 7. I was told this at 18.
