What is Sound Art? Who creates Sound Art? What does it look like?
Sound Art is the understanding and development of sound. Only by listening can we create, and sound art involves listening to the environment and working with it to create new pieces and new sounds.
It is an abstract way of looking at mundane noises and can be enlightening and entertaining for all those who take part.
Mid Pennine Arts is hosting an exhibition Sound Art exhibition by artists Claus van Bebber, Max Eastley, Ben Gwilliam, Helmut Lemke, Susan Matthews, Lee Patterson, Steve Roden, the Automated Noise Ensemble and visitors to the gallery.
