Walshaw's 50th birthday

As a fomer pupil of Walsaw school in Burnley i bumped into someone who used to be in my class and she said there was to be an open day in June to celebrate the 50th birthday. Has anyone here heard this as i would love to go back and have a lok round and meet old mates!

Yes my mum is going for a reunion as far as i know!!!
The school is closing though isn't it?

Hi, I taught at Walshaw and left in October 2005. The school is amalgamating with Barden. This happens in September 2006.
There is a reunion on June 30th for the end of Walshaw (to be called Sir John Thursby).

All ex staff and pupils can go.

Cant believe they are closing I too was a pupil there and went on to teach there. Its a good school, but I doubt it will be for much longer, :tard:

Er indoors used to go there too, although I doubt she will want to go back now :-)

the reunion is actually planned for the 23rd June, not the 30th .I should know as i am an expupil that is on the committee that is planning the whole thing. It will be a good day.

Sadly i missed it was there a good turnout? and did it go well?
