Thumbs up Childrens Charities...

Can anyone advise me on childrens charities in Burnley & Pendle area?

I run a motorcycle club and we are setting up 4 big fund raising days around the country this year and the first one will be in Burnley area.

We don't want to just raise cash as most of this goes straight into 'admin fees'. We are hoping to do teddy collections, easter eggs, toys, computers etc. Anything that will benifit children.

We have 6 weeks until we will be doing this event and I was hoping to get things started so if you have any ideas let me know. If all else fails, I will go to Burnley General Hospital with all the gifts and hand them out in the childrens ward.

Thanks in advance.

Jason - aka The Lone Rider.

How about the "action for ASD" charity! myself i have participated in two fun days to help raise money for the children and feel that it is a very important charity. there is also the charity for terminally ill children (godbless) i think it is called damion house or something like that, i will find out its correct name for you tomorrow and post it on here for you. Hope this helps, think you are doing great work!

Thanks for that information. I have just read up on the ASD website and it does look like a worthy cause. I have heard of the damien house chairty but I didnt realise it was for terminally ill children. I may be able to find the address through another bike club but if you find it first I would be happy for any information.

I have already been told I can have a w/e break to Paris, some PC equipment and other prizes if I need them by local businesses. I will be getting very involved next week with it and hopefully will have more info soon.

If anyone wants to help I would be more than willing to accept it! Once we have completed the Burnley one we have to do one in Blackpool, Sheffield and Birmingham so that will be fun!

I have to go and see the Sister at Edith Watsons tomorrow so we may split the proceeds as I would love to give some easter eggs and teddies to the kids in the hospital.
