Trying to keep things on topic in this rather interesting thread, the petition has been highlighted in the Burnley Express today. Hopefully more people will get their signatures on before 11th August.

Trouble with this sort of petition is that people have to be computer literate to be able to sign. Another problem with petitions is that people think they don't need to as others will, and some don't sign as they are scared of what may happen if they do. So much for free speech and democracy.

Good luck with it, it's disgusting what has taken place. The NHS itself as a whole needs looking at to create the first class service it should be offering.

Fantastic response to the petition so far considering it's only been active for a few days. The article in the press certainly helped i'm sure. Keep spreading the word. Even if it fails, at least they know how people feel about it.

Well done Neal..........

I signed one similar some time ago before the changes...........

It's also intresting to note that the 'type of death' in the way that death is registered has also changed since the move of A&E to Blackburn, where previous it would have been 'DOA' (dead on arrival) if the patient died on route to hospital, now since the move if you die in an ambulance or the hospital in both cases it is now registered as: died in hospital........ That only confirms fears by the trust itself, which are probably now statistics however we will never know the true statistics due to the manipulation of wording and statistics available to the public and media!!!

There is an air ambulance GC but can see why people want the A&E back, it is all down to money as usual. They powers that be are saying if you have an A&E department you also need an ICU and they can't afford both at both hospitals.
Would be interesting to hear if this move has solved the other problems it was meant to IE people waiting for minor ops. All minor ops are supposed to be carried out at Burnley now to reduce waiting times wonder if it has worked out that way. Anybody know???

Sorry folks to go off track again.
I have spoken to John and I have his permission to answer the "Suggestion" that has been made to you.
John is not a disbarred solicitor, and never has been, He did change his name by deed poll for profesional reasons many years ago, Rowe is his family name, There is even a plaque in Burnley relating to his family. It would be interesting if anybody could tell us on here where the plaque is.
I expect you know John's original name as he tells me you have been doing some digging around about him.
He also told me about Burnley councils persecution of his 86 year old father. Would you care to shed some light on this for us please?
With respect to john his account of events took a while to explain and by the time he had finished I had forgot half of it, Asda is not the best place to hold a conversation, As you have been researching John I am sure you will be familiar with his fathers story and how the council have refused to pay him money they owe hin and are in turn taking this 86 year old to court.
Is the message "Do'nt mess with the LibDems because we will crush you with taxpayers money, No matter how old and frail you are"?

To get back to the main topic - there's an article in today's Lancashire Telegraph which you may find interesting.

That does not make good reading I agree, It would have more impact if the doctor stood up and made himself known.
The message that Gordon, and Darren can't seem to grasp is that we have now lost the old ways and we have the new, and it would be better if they got stuck in and did somthing positive about the situation, Come up with somthing that will improve the way things are, Not just sit by moaning about things. Getting together a "Dossier" of scare stories is not being positive, It is just a publicity stunt to say "we told you so" well I think we were all expecting things to go wrong so no big suprises there.
Why does gordon not send in his clean up team that have apparently made Burnley into such a nice place to live?
That would be one problem sorted.
If gordon does get his dream and becomes Burnleys next MP he will still be able to do nothing about this all the time he is being negative.

The It's Our NHS campaign team will be in Burnley Town Centre in the morning drumming up support for the campaign. There will be campaign badges on sale, £1 a pop. 25p pays for the badge; 75p goes on the campaign to restore the facilities at Burnley General.

Best

For gods sake get a grip.
Then next week you will be selling "Dont send yobs to prison badges" £15.25 each, 25p to pay for the badge and £15 towards sending the yobs on holiday/
Hahahaha so what is the "yob czar" ? A travel agent,?
I would like to wager that policy which was in yesterdays papers is going to cost Gordon the job as Burnleys MP.
