anybody any thoughts on the fact that the clean team are being finished, they have had a good twelve month run and in the first six months collected over 5oo tonnes of rubbish out of back yards and fly tipped items, reduced house fires in the trinity area by 60% and 40% around the rest of burnley, saved the fire department over 500,000 pounds in call outs to these fires and this is just 2 people with a transit tipper. by doing their job so well they have made a difference but the powers that be don't see it that way. so with the fortnightly refuse collection about to start prepare to see a lot more rubbish around burnley oh and don't forget all the extra rats and disease that come with them look forward to some intresting replies

Thats sad. Two people who save the taxpayer so much money and do the area so much good should be on a permenant wage.

we have a clean team here in oldham,they got rid of them middle of last year but all the residents complained and we got them back

some councils dont know a good thing when they have it ,quote,you never miss the water till the well runs dry ,WELL DONE CLEAN TEAM ,the council are prats ,

I have never heard of them, sound like good guys though and if they are helping clear rubbish they cant be bad! the new system with bins being collected every 2 week is stupid! just thing if you had a baby, what would you do with all the nappies !! lol

Throw them out of a car window PC, Some dirty git did that to an old lady the other month! Good on the Clean team! :) You don't miss the water till the well runs dry,and I'll bet these lads will not be well thought of by the council, :( but watch out in a few weeks,My best advice is better get a good mouser cat! ;)

Why not go round at night and throw the dirty nappies etc. on council members property,it may send them some kind of signal!

If people kept their backyards clean and didn't fly-tip we wouldn't need to spend resources on cleaning them up. Why would people rather dump their fridge/settee etc...on waste ground than ring the council to pick it up free of charge?
BTW, got 2 blue boxes delivered last week - one at the front door, one at the back - if they can't do that right, I don't hold much hope for the recycling service.

Col on the news last night a woman was going to court because her front garden was a right tip,over here in Blackpool they had a bloke called the Womble his house was just full of rubbish,how do people live like that?

doing a good job keep it up, but over a 1000 pound a year to have the bin empted is not good value, because the council do nothing else for the counil tax i and most of burnley pay. i have to pay a fiver a year to padiham council and i do not even live there
