Teachers to go on Strike

It seems the wonderful NUT are going to have a strike and put many families in the lurch on Thursday.
'Pupils will be turned away from almost 5,000 schools on Thursday as teachers stage their first national strike in two decades'

Anyone believe that they are doing it in the best interest of the kids?
This is a left wing union that is past its sell by date
The state sector has gone barmy, local people in the private sector are losing jobs and suffering pay cuts .

The amount of kids walking around Burnley on any given day of the week I am guessing this strike is still happening???

The strike didn't affect my daughter at all because most of her teachers aren't in the NUT.

There do seem to be an awful lot of school age children on the loose any time though don't there? A few years ago I was in Accrington centre with my other daughter who was recuperating from an accident and was only just getting out and about and having part time schooling organised by the LEA - we got stopped by a truant officer! How come they never seem to stop the ones who are real truants? Anyway, once they found she had a valid reason for not being at school they were quite happy about it.
