Default Hidden Art in Burnley

Anyone seen any of the hidden art in Burnley? I've seen one near to the Cattle Market. More information and a map of the hidden art can be seen via: http://www.bigartpro.co.uk/map.pdf

I wasn't even aware there was any hidden art. What's behind the idea of it being hidden? Must have a wander round on a fine day and see if I can spot any.

It can only be seen at night when they turn on the fluorescent lamps which go on and off over a space of a few minutes.

Is it like "The Acorn Trail" in Accrington? It leads you round places of history to your town. I bet not many people in Accrington know about this but am prepared to be proved wrong!!!

I know about it too. I've followed it with the kids when they were younger and once with a pink rabbit but we only got halfway.

So this hidden art is really hidden and even if I know where it is I can only see it briefly in the dark? Would it be a dangerous question for me to ask what's the point?

A fair question, I think they might be designed to attract the casual passer-by more than anything. I've not seen much advertising them and I missed seeing them get switched on so don't really know a lot about them.

Maybe there's a potential photo mission in trying to capture them!

Art shouldn't be hidden....... If a town is to be promoted for its art then this should be the flagship it deserves as long as the peices are of valuable quality to most.

I hate this kind of gimmik!!!! How much does it cost to promote and keep alive when it can just be exhibited in its original state, how many people have used it as pleasure? Is it quantiable, cost effective and to whom?

I love art, especially free art, it's the pleasure it gives or the annoyance it reaps that can inherit its value, so please lets not hide it away as a gimmik!

Art can be found within our borough, within a short distance walk along our streets and upon our moorland that has been there for over a millenium but never hidden.
