| An annual event that's a really interesting day out or weekend trip. The whole of the main street steps back in time to WWII. There are lots of people in 1940s dress, many from re-enactment groups wearing very authentic outfits. Lots of old vehicles, street entertainment etc. There's also usually a flying display by a spitfire or other WWII plane/s (this is usually on the Saturday, but they sometimes have a German plane doing a reccy on the Sunday). Best to get there early if you're going by car, as it gets difficult to park later on, but there's plenty to keep you occupied all day. If you do a search for the Haworth Village website, there are photos of previous years 1940s weekends on there. |
