I personaly think Burnley has gone PC mad. This time labour councillors have gone to far. Everyone wants whats best for their children but these so called super schools are a joke. Why not just say multiculturisam is NOT working in Burnley so we will try to catch the kids young enough in school and change their ideas.

Yep theres a big meeting at County Hall on the 17th, the public gallery is tiny though and it looks like there could be a huge overspill. Will end up a media frenzy.

The only problem i can see is the issue of the popular schools being over-subscribed. Why not just make these bigger and improve the unpopular ones?

You can Improve Barden but would you send your kids there. Most wouldn't!

i know, get ya point. found something out yesterday. my cuz starts high school in 2006. he will spend two years at st hldas, one year at townwley, one year again at hildas, then a year at st teds. this is for just going to st teds. you got to 4 different sites with one school in 5 years. its not on! if ya follow me.....

well i have emailed all the local councilors for their opinions, and i am thinking of starting up a major petition and press coverage to raise the questions like why dont we spend the money on the schools we have at the moment and improve the quality and class sizes:stop:

The last chance is this coming Thursday, if you are so passionate turn up. St Theodore's are sending 200 people, there's 90000 people in Burnley, we need as many bodies at County Hall as possible to stop this experiment!
