Prince Charles joins Burnley

PRINCE Charles is to forge a special partnership with Burnley, the Express can today reveal.

The Prince will visit the town on a special fact-finding mission on Thursday, February 21st, as the first stage of a project which aims to help regenerate the area.

During his visit the Prince will visit sites across the borough and meet key local civic and business leaders to discuss a strategy to build a better Burnley.

As well as taking a hands-on interest in the town's future, a number of the Prince's charities and the Prince's Business in the Community organisation will be supporting the borough by arranging for regional and national business leaders to visit Burnley to offer support and expertise to business and community projects.

And the Burnley Express has also been invited to play a key role in the project partnership as the local media partner.

This sounds like a good thing for Burnley. Wonder what changes he will implement?

If anybody of supreme importance is looking at this site? to get a feel of the town of Burnley? I am up for a discussion with Prince Charles, sadly I personally think that the whole event will be stage managed for press purposes,good photo shoots and selected local residents to comment.

I always have believed that Burnley desperately needs employment,core government employers, perhaps relocation of central government departments to Burnley. You know those administration jobs that can be filled by the people of Burnley and all of the areas around,even Manchester folk might commute to Burney. Increase the per capita income of the town and then? you might start to a difference in the population, drive the smack heads out and the dealers also those long term incapacity benefit claimants who have no right to benefit,just lazy.

This visit can help the town if only we, the residents are genuinely given the opportunity to express ourselves honestly!

What was all that about? fleeting visit,a ride on a canal boat,then meeting a couple of charities and a photo shoot here and there.

When I drove past the town hall at 09h30 there was a crowd of four waiting for his Royal Highness,perhaps all the others were at the rear, comment from a friend? I have never seen so many policeman in Burnley?
