| I'd love to see more use made of the public spaces in the town centre in the evenings - especially in the warmer months, instead of being playgrounds for drunken hooligans. Doesn't have to be some noisy festival type thing, just somewhere for all age groups to gather and enjoy themselves. Maybe the caffs and coffee shops could stay open a bit later with an evening market - take the bias towards drinking establishments away, if there was something else to actually do things might change?

| iagree with you on the cafe and coffie shops opening late.if you go to manchester or liverpool in the city centers the night life is very diffrent with the coffie shops and cafe's and posh bars open late you get a more chilled out atmosphere.not like burnley when all you get is 5,000 people trying to get drunk as quick as thay can between 7:00 and 1:00. maybe a few posh wine bars might help.with chilled out jazz music playing in the background.(just an idea) |

| Yeah, that kind of thing, not into wine bars myself but I'm sure they are something that appeals to the more mature punter which would help shift the balance from the "yoof" market.

| More of the housing areas doing up (the ones already done certainly look nicer), more of the empty boarded up buildings doing up or knocking down, more of the scruffy bits of land landscaped... The Weavers Triangle canal basin thing to get moving (it's crying out for it).. The Oval to get started.. More youth centres (kept a lot of teenagers out of trouble in my younger days).. More bobbies out and about, better street lighting, hospital services re-instated.. Also agree that we do need more industry..if we can't get the industry though, we need more tourism - perhaps a large museum to attract visitors to the town from other parts of the country? Preston has a famous football museum, Manchester has the Imperial War museum and that other one (Orbis?), how about a museum of music? Don't think there's one of those anywhere now since the large one in London closed. We have other excellent smaller museums, but a large nationally famous one would be a draw. |

| I'm hoping an influx of new students when the uni is built will be a good thing for the town. Like them or not, they have student loans burning a hole in their pocket and demand a broad range of services/facilities/entertainment. ...not sure I'd want to live next door to a houseful of them though. ![]()
