Not disputing its racism Bernie the problem is proving it. As has been shown in the past it would be hard to prove as is but easy if reversed if you catch my drift. I still maintain that the law for convenience see's racism as only one way ie ethnic minority racially abused. It cannot seem to grasp it it can be the other way as well. A good fiew years ago their was in white letters on the wall that stood on Hannah Street graffiti saying "white honkie go home." This was to me proof that it does work the other way regardless of what the high and mighty think.

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander I say.

You are right, that's the trouble now everybody is scared to stand up and be counted. I am not racist but it is time we took a stand.

Totally agree but were as they will stick together we are that fragmented and cannot agree on how to react. The minorities stand as a unit we just bicker and fight about it like the opening time at shops for the January sales. So we need to take a leaf from their book.

I remember that. I saw it and agree that is blatant racism and is extremely offensive. But that isn't the same as asking for someone who can speak the same language as your customers. Yes the person probably did say they were expecting an Asian pupil and we have been so conditioned to look for racism in everything that we see a logical statement as racist. In order to be PC they should have said they would prefer a Punjabi speaking pupil and that way they should not have risked offending anyone.

A simple request gets tangled and as such kicks of a misunderstanding that becomes a race issue. Still say if it had been vice versa there would be all hell to pay.

But there shouldn't be. People are just so keyed up about racism these days. There's a thing in today's paper about a chap being done for racism because he referred to people as "itinerant travellers" and got up a petition to get them shifted from a car park!

Nothing wrong in calling people that. Next you wont be able to lable criminals as criminals. I think I need to take some drugs as the country is becoming so unreal.

The mix up happened and no doubt will happen again. It is not right to think that someone is stupid in believing because I am another who does. There are times when a job might require even remotely a certain qualification or ability and I have worked at place that required that.

If the job description specified that you speak urdu then why apply for the job? If it didnt then maybe you would have a case of discrimination but if it did then that is why you were turned down. Or simply another person better qualified than you applied for the job and so got it.
