Does anyone have a recipe for butter pies? I haven't been able to find butter pies anywhere since I left Lancashire 10 years ago! And, I have a mad urge to try my hand at making some to curb my cravings!

A potato and onion pie with a bit of butter in. with the filling. I don't know the actual ratio of the fillings, hence asking if anyone knows a recipe. Can you not get them everywhere in Lancashire? I know Blackburn did them.

I remember Butter pies and jelly pies when i used to get sent for the saturday treat whilst growing up in Chorley. Bloody lovely they were :)

That's the basics but you must experiment a little to get your perfect pie.

The best way i find is to just fry i t or steam it for4-5 min until tender, i love it . Its nice with butter or creme fresh . We like it with fresh tunaand sweet potato chips. Think its my best meal!:strawberry[1]:
