Renting Out a Home in Pendle

Someone I know would like to rent out a home they own to an immediate family member (His Son and his Son's wife).

Does he need to follow the same legislation as someone renting to a non-family member does anyone know or not?

why not do it informally - no paper work - just cash changes hands? - almost like loaning a house to someone - or the relatives could make frequent 'gifts; on a monthly basis

They need to agree on a assured shorthold tenancy agreement

This is to ensure the owner can get his property back if there is a dispute over rent or any other problem.

I would advise instructing a solicitor to do this
