Weather Warning

A severe weather warning has been issued for North-West England with wind speeds up to 80mph. The Met Office has advised people to be aware of possible damage to property and to secure outdoor equipment as best as possible.

Only had 1 snowfall where I live in Canada,about 8" on Dec 7th. Never known it so mild,but the forecast is calling for about 12" over next 24 hrs,so dont get too despondent over there.

Wind speeds are up to 70mph at the moment, anyone reporting any damage or incidents? I've heard buses are diverted due to a roof having been blown off somewhere.

just come bk from rochdale via edenfild and the winds over the tops there are really strong i was driving at 30mph (and that aint like me ..lol) and still gettin blown everywhere...

and on the haslingden bypass they are diverting all the lorries which cant open the backs up...also there was a lorry overturned on said bypass....

4 out of the 6 houses opposite me have roof tiles off and the school my son goes to has said it will be closed tomorrow if the wind keeps up.

Better off listening to Radio Lancashire - theyre giving regular updates for all the damage. A lot of roads have been shut.

bloody weather it cut our power for over 6 hours today its only just come back on

we had a few scares with the power earlier ,lost street lights for a bit and house lights flickering ,but all seems quiet now thank god
