The best thing you can give is money,the food clothes water etc can be got near the effected areas, by the best people that know whats needed the agencies.It sounds harsh but thats the bottom line.

Ditto about giving money.
Most of these things are made in or nearer the countries that were affected so it will cost more to ship them out there than it will to buy them from neighbouring countries. However, that said if you donate them to a charity, then that should relieve the charities local burden slightly allowing them to spend more overseas than locally perhaps? It appears that we now have promised over £100m. I'm sure that this should suffice for now to enable immediate relief to be given as well as longer term aid. |

got a couple of c,ds ,and some tapes yesterday ,from the cleveleys oxfam shop ,they had stacks of them and they were selling very well ,along with video,s and really good quality books ,
