| bt sucks ntl offers a better package they are just very dodgy they charge you double for stuff and make loads of errors on the bills and if you dont question them they wont do anything i checked through my bill it turned out they were charging me rental for a tv set top box which is free and charging me for a package i didnt have so they have credited my next bill with £50 so be careful check and question your bills

| I am on ntl broadband at the moment and i have had loads of problems with them! And trying to phone them to get help is a JOKE! Been on the phone 4 times for an hour at a time, and im still waiting for the problem to be fixed! By the way it is not a free phone number! ![]() |

| ntl - reliable ???? I'm sorry but I just cannot understand those 2 words being in the same sentence. Try www.cableforum.com for further info on how bad NTL is. The speed may be higher but the upload speed is less, the contention is often worse, the system is oversubscribed & undereverythinged. The incompetence of the NTL billing computer (always the PC to blame) is laughable. However, as it may be cheaper it may be an option for you Dellym, however I'm going the other way. I moved at the start of December, arranged a BT install on the 2/12/04 & unfortunately they were so busy they could not actually install it until yesterday (04/01/05), a bit aof a long wat but now I'll be looking for an ADSL supplier, Plusnet springs to mind as I tried them before (briefly) & was well impressed by the quality of service & low costs. Since dumping NTL & going to SKY for TV & BT for phone it has all been much better than the old days of NTL, heck I even have direct debits with them (never let NTL have DD info, it's fatal - DD guarantees mean nowt to them). |

| The NTL CS staff say that too lol, although some of them really know thier beans, some don't. However it's like that with most companies, some now are in India too. Although there is a problem with BT being rather busy at the moment, I have never had a billing problem with them yet, also I get through within a few rings and am talking to someone withn a couple of minutes, not the 40m wait like NTL. And NTL do not work late evenings & weekends (or something like that). There is a BT guy living over the road from me, I'll have to get to know im lol |

| There was a BT guy who lived next door to my sister. He went on holiday to France and had quite a nasty accident. Think he broke his back, he's still in hospital over there, and his wife has kids over here to look after. Must be terrible. |
