Famous Burnley Folk

How many people do you know born&bred Burnley who have become famous? I know a lot who support the Clarets but they come from elsewhere eg John Kettley,Ame Lame,Alastair Campbell etc. The only one I know about is the actor,Ian McKellern [sp?].Surely we must have had more over the centuries,can you name any alive or dead???

theres steve halliwell aka zak dingle out of emmerdale.i know he lives in burnley not sure if he is definately from there he goes drinking in carlton and lord nelson seen him a few times around.

him who plays jarvis in emerdale aswell ..he watches the clarets but dunno if hes from bley

They did have a number one (??) single though that sold millions
Unfortunately, Binty man/woman from Big Brother had a cack single that sold hundreds but is MUCH more famous - I blame the parents you know

pennelope keith married a policeman from burnley ,but you diddent want to know that did you?and claire from corrie used to live on todmorden rd ,is she classed as famous?

Well if you like history,General Scarlet was from Burnley,he led the heavy brigade at Balaclava,Also The Sundance Kid had relatives in the town as well, My Dad used to tell me but I thought he was joking,Kiki say's the same so a real life gunslinger from lanky,Bertie Bee and the Bee Hole Bogart. The list just goes on.
