Following on from my wheelie bin expose a year before it was imposed, some of you may be aware that there's going to be a few developments in the Gannow area:
There's this one which was passed:

Those residents who are now unhappy that they may have people able to peer into their house from height and their gannow lane and surrounding area residents will now be interested to learn about all the waste and tip site off princess way being moved to smallshaw lane further down gannow lane to make way for the Burnley College move.
Some may be looking out of their windows to find the truck wash only metres away, i'm sure all the wagons, trucks etc. plus the traffic from residents to bring excess rubbish because of the bin fiasco using that "huge" bridge over the canal and the fact that Gannow Lane is "really wide" will pose no problem at all.
Another problem seems to be with the cemetary, not only is there a flooding problem but I've heard complaints about graves being pre-dug up and left for months, with the huge pile of muck being placed near other graves. Fencing round one nearby grave was removed (despite all other fencing on other graves away from the area being untouched), all this since 3 new graves were used, one being the dug up one. The incense sticks being thrown as rubbish on other graves and something to do with the need for traditional burials in 24 hours of death may explain the situation, so the council must dig up graves and leave them until its next used to prevent any rush. One case of this though seems to have been sorted with assurances given to a source that the grave will be filled back in. Maybe they'll install bins or fine those throwing rubbish onto other graves during funerals.
