Default Grotto

Didn't put Santa's Grotto because he isn't going to be there Asking in the town centre managers office when Santa was arriving in Burnley town centre was told he isn't this year but there would be a grotto.
How do you explain to the little ones that Santa is giving Burnley a miss this year? Who decided to spoil the excitement of seeing Santa arrive in the town centre for the kids?

its not good is it when christmas isnt allowed to be christmas. Children need to see santa to believe in him..Nathans never seen him! We saw the grotto in the market hall this week and he was delighted to see snowmen etc, i was so disappointed that there was no santa!
Does anyone know if the round table will still be doing the street drive round with Father Christmas on the truck? I hope so cos even i love that!! Makes me feel all festive when i hear the christmas music on the loud speakers gradually getting nearer and nearer lol!!

They seem to come round every year with Santa on the sleigh, the look on the childrens faces as he waves is a joy to behold. Even if they are past the age of believing, there is still the magic of the season around them and we shouldn't take it away from them as they grow up quick enough.

i took grandchildren Ebony 5, Courtney 4, and Caitlin 3 to see santa at Trafford centre last year £12 each! But he was the real santa of course and got beautiful photos, looks like i may have to go again, the queues go on forever. Oh dear (heavy sigh)

Nessie is it just Burnley being Burnley or is it the Winterfest brigade?
Father Christmas was once drunk, well he looked it,they had a huge blow up one on top of the market hall and it was'nt filled properly,it swayed about and was very funny.

If Nathan has'nt seen him up close before Dellym just make sure he is'nt scared of him, some kids are not to sure of the strange bloke who looks a bit odd.

When I asked in the office why there was to be no Santa, I was told it was because last year teenagers had tried to pull Santas beard. Sounded a lame excuse to me, more likely they are saving the money it would have cost.
Santa manages to get round the playgroups, nurseries and primary schools at least to make up for it.

Tescos have a Santa who is handing out sweets to children. Come to think about it, how many of us have told children not to take sweets from strangers and here we will be encouraging them to do just that

On the news it's showing Japan's Father Christmas's having lessons in being Father Christmas. Pity old Arnie stopped posting I'd have asked him what they do at Christmas.
