The address thingy is not working on my pc Clb guy. It's probably my end. In my job I deal with a lot of old soldiers, many tell me about the war and show me all their medels
and photo's. Some do'nt like to talk about it,they still have nightmares 60years later.
I find it very interesting to hear about the war from them and not from films. One man I knew was from WWone,
one of the last of the Accrington pals, told me about the battle of the Somme.

Accy Pals talk at Norcross not too long ago
Was very interesting!
That 's why they tend not to group soldiers from the same towns in the same regiments anymore

I'll do my best mate but I'm rubbish with /@\,;>. Clb. Is he a relative of yours? Or do you know him?
If he was in Burma in the war he may find this brings back a few memoris.
I used to go to a very nice bloke called Bill he was in Burma,he sadly passed away a few years ago, he told me it pussed it down for months on end,he got naffed off with flies, mango's and bananas, the gurkas(I hope I've spelt it right)told them how to live of the jungle, could put the ships up the Japs, and was glad they was fighting for us,he also hated the film Merrils Maruders and said it was a travesty. Thats why I'd rather get told about the war from the lads that know and not get the American hollywood version.

The lads in the first world war thought that after it there would be no more wars.
It's good to keep a record of what they and others did in all the wars. Going back to hollywood films, the U,47 was a pack of lies as well. the yanks was'nt even in the war when we got the code machine.
