Council leader, Gordon Birtwistle said: "The young people of today are tomorrow's homeowners - if their dreams for their neighbourhood are as big as houses, then let's make them as big as houses. "Picture This is a great fun way to bring communities together, but underlines our serious commitment to talking directly to communities in their own neighbourhoods and involving people in every step of the way in the regeneration process. We hope people enjoy the show." Picture This aims to use creativity to engage local people in the planning process and increase invovlement. Events will take place later in the summer to build on Picture This and increase residents say on plans to transform their neighbourhood. David Brown, Burnley Council's Director of the Environment said: "Burnley Council is committed to being as open and honest as possible about this planning process - further events will take place later this year, again in the heart of the community, to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to have their say. We hope everyone enjoys the show." Picture This has been organised by Burnley Council, who funded the project alongside Elevate East-Lancashire and an outside agency called PROJECT. Support was also provided by artists who engaged local young people in the process, Lancashire County Council's Youth and Community Service and Creative Partnerships.
