| Thanks! There is also the really cleverly painted (in watercolours) memorial to the first world war vetrans of Colne. Think it maybe was co-op employees and really is worth a look at if you are there its in the library .upstairs! It has lots of little paintings or vinyette,s on it which are really lovely especially the one of the co-op building itself which is now Carlo,s restaurant! |

| The artists name was Bill Hodgson and he was a character,he used to paint for about 6 months of the year and for the following 6 months he,d go on the beer selling what he,d painted to pay for his drink,I,ve seen him in some right states and he,d get barred from lots of pubs in the Burnley area on a regular basis.I,m sure if you asked around someone would know of him. |
