 Canal Attack Gemma's Canal Attack Ordeal A WORRIED Burnley mum has warned youngsters to steer clear of a quiet canalside shortcut after her teenage daughter was left traumatised following a shocking broad daylight attack. "People need to know what's happened," said Miss Tina Norton, of Florence Avenue. "A lot of children go down that way on their way to and from school!" Miss Norton spoke out after 13-year-old Gemma Green ran home in tears after her ordeal on the secluded path by the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, at Gannow, around 3-15 p.m. on Sunday.
