| You may be aware that there is a sculpture planned for Crown Point. The sculpture, the Singing Ringing Tree, is a beautiful tree like structure which makes a low tuneful noise. On Saturday 18th March 2006 there is a communication event in the Lecture Room at Towneley Hall at 2pm. It is open to the public so please come along and find out a bit more about it. |

| Link: http://www.panopticons.uk.net/ We've discussed this project before, but I can't find the thread. Seems like public art is a growth industry round these parts...remember the giant christmas tree bauble in the new leisure centre being on the local news? I wouldn't mind, but they always get some London firm to make the stuff, what about local artists/fabricators? I don't know how they dream up the prices for these things either. I think a giant tombstone would be much more appropriate.

| It can be up there, fine - but what would concern me more is the noise it can make during the middle of the night for the local residents. We shall have to see, as I know someone that lives near there (albiet a long walk from there) and he's the sort of person that if it keeps him awake at night, will mix some concrete up & fill the tubes - lol |

| Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but does anyone know where this thing is going to be exactly? I just want to know if I'll be able to park a car under it to take some photos.
