I Know What The History Says..ive Read The Book On The Miners And Was Very Annoyed At The No Mention Of My Grandparents.. But Believe Me Its Not True. When My Grandma N Grandad Were Asked To Take Over It Was A Rat Infested Hellhole Where Not Many Went Or Rather Only The Unsavoury Used. Although It Remained A Working Mens Club It Became More Popular As It Got Cleaner Lol!!

Possibly Ressurrect? It Wasn't Sold At All When They Moved In But Maybe It Had Been By A Previous Brewery...couldnt Say. They Received Numerous Awards For The Amount Sold. Needless To Say That We All As Family Members Have At Least One Bottle In The House For Medicinal Purposes You Understand!! Lol!!

I have drunk it.people tend to have it like your Gran Col. with hot water.Jasey's mum liked to drink it at one time. It's good for people who have stomach problems as well. Monks make the stuff,they tend to make a lot of wine,cheese,beers etc.

Yes Dellym I went to the miners in the late 50s and in the sixties. It was a swinging place especially on a Friday night.Sorry I dont remember who the landlord was.

GC I went to the Empress ballroom to, But mainly to skate.

my husband used to go in plumb st miners ,he reckons that more benny was sold there than any other pub in england ,then he went to the railway club down rosegrove for years ,i liked going down there too.

Used to go in the Butterfy pub in Burnley in the seventy,s it was great all ages and someone took a baby fox in one night it wasnt frightened and quite tame a beautiful creature! :)

kiki i think it was the butterfly that had back to front parties ,in the summer they had a xmas party and at xmas they had a carribean night.

Dont remember those Granny C but it was where i first clocked my husband. I was making the sunday dinner and popped in to buy some beer to have with the beef and his dad moved some men away from the bar! Then I saw him and he was a bit of allright!
